Welcome to Intermediate Design with Shaeri Intermediate Design and Fundamentals is a class that is geared towards students who have basic to intermediate knowledge of their Graphic Editor. The class covers the use of the Developer Tools and creating textures using a graphic editor. A Pre-requisite for the class is that students should have at least some intermediate understanding of the tools and functions of their Graphic Editor. The class is taught based on Adobe Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS and CS2. This is a VOICE ONLY class in-world. A note from Shaeri: Students, I've had a lot of people ask me why I don't teach the class in text when we are in-world. There are three very good reasons for it.
My job is to make sure you are getting the knowledge that you want out of the course. I can teach you the material, but IT IS UP TO YOU to make sure that you practice the skills I am teaching you. For the Fall 2007 Semester there will be two projects for you to take part in: Understanding Couture and the Christmas Stocking Project. Understanding Couture is new this semester. We will be watching the runway shows from such noted designers as Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Versace, Dior, Chanel and other world famous fashion houses. You will be tasked with a research paper on the subject matter, specifically, how we can be inspired to create fashion for There through understanding real world trends and artistic concepts of the major fashion houses and the vision of the cutting edge couturiers. We will be defining the terms Prêt-à-Porter and Haute Couture and how they are possible inside a virtual world. Being a designer in There does not mean that it is as easy as slapping a texture on a wireframe. In this class, you will learn the difference between slapping paint on a wireframe and Designing. |
